Wow, 2 Years Already?

Well, about 5 days ago, we had our SECOND anniversary!! I cannot believe it has been that long!! I know in the long run of things, 2 years is not that long... but it certainly doesn't feel like it has been that long. However, sometimes it does feel like it has been a lifetime. =) We have been through a lot in these 2 years but know that we still have a TON more to go through.

We celebrated our anniversary by going to the temple, and then getting some Costa Vida burritos and Little Ceasar's pizza. We couldn't decide what we wanted... =)We have had a great 2 years and we wouldn't trade it for anything! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, HONEY!! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!

Welcome to Rexburg, Population 5,000...

Ok, so maybe that was an exaggeration... There are around 27575 people there, and about 27,500 of those are BYU-I students or staff. =) But really, we went there for Memorial Day weekend to have an ALMOST whole family gathering. We were really bummed that my brother and sis in Oregon couldn't come celebrate with us. It was fun to see my mom and dad and my other brother and his wife. They live there in Rexburg and go to school there. We mostly just hung out and relaxed, which was wonderful. The best kind of vacation, if you ask me.

Saturday afternoon, we went up to see Mesa Falls, about 45 minutes to an hour away. It was absolutely beautiful! The falls were a lot of fun to see! We got to "hike" down to the little view area where we took a lot of pictures and just talked. I love waterfalls. There is just something about the sound of flowing water that relaxes me.

Take a Seat...

Our neighbors moved about a week ago and had some things that they didn't want to take with them. Among those things was a chair... a perfect(not perfect condition) chair... a chair that I have always wanted... A CHAIR AND A HALF!!!

I absolutely love this chair!! It is so comfortable to curl up and read, sleep, watch tv, or cuddle in! I was so excited about this chair that I have told everyone that they need to come over and see it!! Dave just laughs and says that it is just a chair... Oh honey, if you only knew... =) I got something that I have always wanted and didn't have to spend any money on it!! It was very nice of them to give this to us. They probably have no idea how much I love that chair!! Thanks a bunch!! =)

"Honey, I was in an accident..."

That was what Dave said to me about 10 minutes after dropping me off at work. Needless to say, I freaked out and ran out of my office faster than anyone would have thought possible in flip flops and at 6:40 in the morning. So yeah, Dave got hit by a woman who ran a red light at an intersection about 100 yards from my work. She hit the driver's side of our car right on the rear wheel, spinning him a little over 180 degrees so he was back facing the way that he had come. When I got to the intersection, all I saw was our car, sitting in the middle of the intersection, no Dave, no other car, just ours. I started thinking to myself, "The other car left?!" Luckily, I saw Dave sitting on the curb on the other side of the street and hurried across the crosswalk to check on him. He was a little shaken up but not seriously hurt. So that right there was already a huge blessing! I sighed with relief and then asked him what we need to do. About 2 minutes later, the police showed up and gave Dave and the other driver papers to fill out. I started getting some things out of our car that we might need and speaking to the officer about what we will need to do and everything. I, of course, called my mom in tears(we were supposed to be meeting them up in Rexburg for the long weekend) and broke the news to her that our car is not drivable and that we might not be able to make it up.

Once Dave got his papers filled out, and our car was towed away, we walked back to my work to start getting everything taken care of. We immediately called our insurance and started the process of filing our claim. They took Dave's statement and everything. I took the rest of the day off and Brian and Sheri came down to help us sort everything out, because I was a huge wreck. We found out from Geico that we were found to have zero liability in the accident but had yet to hear about the other girl's claim. We were on the phone with Geico for probably between 3-4 hours trying to get everything worked out so that we had some sort of transportation.

Luckily, we were able to rent a car and ended up being able to go to Rexburg after all. We were very blessed and I am so beyond grateful that Dave is ok!! Thanks for everyone's help with everything!! We love you all!!

California... Here I come!!

So, Dave COMPLETELY surprised me with a trip to California for my birthday! It was right around finals when he sent me... Probably so I wouldn't be home to distract him... =) We were planning on going to Salt Lake one Friday night in April so Dave came to my work to pick me up and go. I was sitting at my desk and he came up and sat next to me. He handed me a couple sheets of paper and said that he had some ideas of what we could do in Salt Lake. I looked at the first paper and it was a picture of the beach, the next one was Disneyland... I was thinking to myself, "Did Disneyland just decide to move to Salt Lake without me knowing?" Then, the last paper was a flight itinerary for me to California. I looked at him and said, "Is this some kind of joke? Because it's not funny!"

Well, it wasn't a joke, much to my delight and I flew out 2 hours later... I flew in to Long Beach, CA, by far the smallest airport I had ever seen, the baggage claim was actually outside, and Jen picked me up.

We went to Rodeo Drive the next morning and felt so out of place we couldn't even bring ourselves to go in the stores... I think they were just a little too down scale for us... =) It was kinda fun to see all the fancy cars and everything. I was rudely reminded by the people there that I would never own anything like that in my entire life. =)

We also went to the beach 2 days in a row, to work on my tan. Within 10 minutes of being there, I pretty sure there was sand in and on everything! Lexi especially... Her bath after the playing at the beach looked like she brought the whole thing home with her! I had a blast playing with Jen and Lexi on the beach! Well, the whole time actually... =) Lexi loved the water so much!! Once she went up one time, we couldn't get her to stay up at the towels for more than a few minutes without serious repercussions. =)

We also spent a little time in Hollywood, the best place on earth!! It is actually quite a bit more dirty than you see in the movies... How did real life become so much dirtier than the movies?! I thought everything was supposed to be perfect?! =) It was kinda cool to see all the cool theaters there and everything. It is amazing sometimes to see all the random things that people think of, how, I am not entirely sure. Much to my dismay, and Jen's, we found out later that night that HUGH JACKMAN was in Hollywood the same day we were!! Just a few hours earlier!! I couldn't believe it when I heard it!! Sorry honey, but he is very attractive... =) Also, while in Hollywood, we went to a cool shopping mall that had a big fountain in the middle that came right out of the ground... Dave couldn't seem to keep Lexi out of it... Or was it the other way around? =) By the end of that play session, Lexi and Dave were pretty wet!

Then, we just kinda hung out and I got to relax from real life for a while. Thanks Jen for letting me invade your house for a week and putting up with me the whole time! And Thanks Honey for being so great!! You are amazing!! =)
